Made-to measure functionality.
Prerequisite for the productive use of a perfect binding system is its simple and safe handling. Particularly in case of complex perfect binding systems the continuity of the operator’s concept, with all systems components included, is of special importance. Only that way set-up efforts on the total system can be minimized and system monitoring during production be organized safely and efficiently. Exactly here Wohlenberg starts with their system software:
Navigator e as well as Navidesk, bind-com® and ConditionPro® with their made-to-measure functionality guarantee a simple and safe handling of Wohlenberg perfect binding systems.
Navigator e
The Navigator e is a graphically interactive user interface which is universally suited for use on all products of the Wohlenberg e-line – not only on all perfect binders but also on gatherers and three-knife trimmers. Operators once trained on the Navigator are able to master all further machine types without needing further training measures – a big advantage! The Navigator e – a further development of the since years tried and tested Navigator – provides a multi-task and therefore not only clear but also quick tool for machine operation and machine monitoring. An important improvement on the Navigator e is the integrated screen manager which allows an individual adaptation of operator’s guidance, considering the individual operator’s qualification and requirements. Additionally the machine operation, already easy from the start, was further improved by installing a new clear layout.
Navidesk
bind-com®
To further ease the set-up process Wohlenberg developed the measuring table Navidesk. Navidesk enables the machine operator to easily record, system-supported, the formats of covers and signatures – this helps to prevent measuring- and input faults. With the help of the technical control station bind-com® the such recorded data can be used as untrimmed formats for generating a job. That way the recorded raw data, whether of gatherers, perfect binders or three-knife trimmers, are available for all machines throughout the complete perfect binding system. But also several complete perfect binding lines can be managed via a Navidesk – Prerequisite, however, is the availability of a bind-com® system. Bind-com® is a technical control station for Wohlenberg perfect binding systems. Bind-com® allows to centrally create, plan and manage production jobs as well as to record job- and machine data and evaluate them statistically. Additionally bind-com® serves as central interface for the exchange of JDF/JMF-data, remote diagnosis on system level, as well as a basis for the Condition Monitoring System „ConditionPro®“.
Condition Monitoring
ConditionPro®
ConditionPro® is an innovative new system for real-time monitoring of machine conditions, serving as an anticipatory measure for the maintenance of perfect binding systems. The goal is to preventatively recognize the wear behaviour of essential unit components in relation to their special utilisation parameters, thus ensuring the use of the components over their specified lifetime, and nevertheless make necessary maintenance measures planable. This allows to reduce down-times on perfect binding systems to a minimum and to further increase productivity and economical efficiency. ConditionPro® is thus an adequate Condition Monitoring System (CMS). Wear and tear - relevant machine parameters as well as important ambient conditions, e.g. room temperature in the production area, will continuously be recorded, saved in a data file and evaluated. Based on these data due-to-wear values are recorded and anticipatory calculations of the remaining life time carried out. When required the system will automatically transmit an email or a SMS. The user will receive explicit maintenance- and service instructions which are based on the actual degree of utilisation of the machine component in question.
