BAUMANN Maschinenbau Solms is part of the BAUMANN group – one of the largest business firms for the graphic industry, systems and consumables in Germany.

Already in the 1960s, BAUMANN started to build machinery for the periphery of high-speed cutters, such as automatic joggers, pile hoists and air-tables. The number of handling equipment „made by BAUMANN“ rose continuously so that „Maschinenbau Solms“ – today’s BAUMANN Maschinenbau Solms – was founded in 1978 especially for the production of these machinery.

Today, BAUMANN Maschinenbau Solms is one of the leading manufacturers of cutting systems and pile turners, world-wide. Our range of products covers complete cutting lines for printers, book-binders and paper manufacturers. With the latest technologies we develop and produce machinery which is made to measure for our customers needs. It is our aim to help our customers to hold their ground against their competitors and to make profits.

From planning to production

The principal office of BAUMANN Maschinenbau Solms combines all relevant departments - from the R & D department to manufacturing and installation - under one roof. 

As a result, Baumann's periods of development are very short. While the development of new machinery was usually a matter of several years in earlier times, at BAUMANN Maschinenbau Solms it is now a matter of several weeks. This speed of development gives us a unique position in the market of the graphic industry. 

In mid-2008 Baumann has opened in the Solms-Baumann cutting center in a newly created section of the building.

The centerpiece is the great engine room, where various combinations of solo Wohlenberg guillotines and Wohlenberg-Baumann-cutting equipment may be present in practice. In this section the focus is on demonstrating the performance of advanced cutting systems.

It is important especially the seamless integration of the new - exclusively distributed by Baumann - Wohlenberg cutting machine series.

The same building also offer several training rooms with a total area of 320 sqm enough space for presentation and training.
